Alex Pietrangelo Makes Emotional Comments After Mark Stone's Injury
The Vegas Golden Knights fell to the Nashville Predators in a 5-3 game at T-Mobile Arena marking their 3rd straight loss on home ice. Cody Glass, Vegas' first ever draft pick scored a goal versus his former team. In the match Mark Stone did not play in the third period after suffering an upper body injury. Fans across the league are concerned and so is his teammate, Alex Pietrangelo who commented about the loss of his captain.
Pietrangelo comments on Stone injury
After the game, Pietrangelo was asked about Stone's injury and the importance of having a guy like him on the ice.
«I mean obviously we know how special of a player Mark is, but any of our guys, you never want to see a guy go down,» defenseman Alex Pietrangelo said. We're obviously fighting some injuries right now. We'll see where things go tomorrow. But tough when your captain goes down like that. I thought we tried to push as hard as we could for him. Those are the ones you want to win for your captain.»
Stone is having a career year, with 53 points in 56 games played this season. His career high is 73 points in the year that he was acquired by the Golden Knights at the trade deadline from the Ottawa Senators.
Extremely tough blow for the Knights, who have already lost Jack Eichel with injury and recently putting him on LTIR.
