Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin checks in on Pittsburgh Penguins' Kris Letang
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals have been one of the best rivalries in hockey for nearly two decades. The matchup between 2004 1st overall pick Alex Ovechkin, and 2005 1st overall pick Sidney Crosby has never let us down, even as they enter the final stages of their careers.
Over that time, their rivalries have become friendships off the ice, and when Kris Letang returned to the ice following the death of his father, Ovechkin made sure to take the time to check in with him.
Rivals or not, these are two of the best veterans in the sport. It is always nice to see this comradery on the ice.
