The Winnipeg Jets came back down 4-1, but couldn't finish the comeback with a 5-4 loss in Double OT to Vegas in Game 3.

But the most recent news from HC Rick Bowness will likely sting much more for Jets fan.

After the game, Bowness announced the Jets would be without Star defenseman Josh Morrissey for the rest of the series.

Morrissey was injured in the first period of Game 3 of the first round matchup against the Golden Knights, and did not return with what Winnipeg called a "lower-body injury".

According to Bowness, it isn't known what the specific of Morrissey's injury is, but likely has to do with a knee-on-knee collision with Vegas forward Zach Whitecloud.

Already down 2-1 following the loss, Winnipeg will now be without their top defenseman, as they look to rebound from a tough fought loss to Vegas.

It's unclear how long Morrissey will be out for, but Winnipeg is already down in the series, and will need a big stretch from the rest of their defensive core, and hope to survive without one of Hockey's top Defensemen this season.
