Pierre-Luc Dubois Reveals Why He Forced His Way Out Of Winnipeg
Pierre-Luc Dubois forced his way out of Winnipeg and the truth behind why he did so has now been revealed.
Dubois Leaves Winnipeg
Last offseason, the LA Kings and the Winnipeg Jets brokered a blockbuster trade that sent the 2016 3rd overall pick to California.

Now, Dubois has offered some insight into why he left Winnipeg and the Jets.
"I think, where I was going in my career and in my life I'm 25. I've said this before but eight years is a long time. I don't know how I'm going to feel in three years. But I felt like, for me, L.A. was a city where I could be happy for the duration of the contract. I could be happy playing here. I could be myself here. It was a hard decision to make but, like I said, I would never speak ill of Winnipeg or say I didn't enjoy my time there because I did."
So it wasn't Winnipeg, then?
"That's the main thing I would say if you asked me what I wanted people to understand: You can like two things at the same time. You can appreciate two different things at the same time. It's not that you choose one so you hate the other. That's what I think got misconstrued in the whole process."
New Beginnings For Dubois
Last season with the Jets, Dubois scored 27 goals and had 63 points in 73 games. He signed a massive $8.25m AAV deal for the next 8 years so it is clear the Kings expect to see growth in his production.
Since being traded, Dubois has yet to register a point with the Kings and is a -2. It is unlikely he will remain pointless for much longer but getting off to a slow start with the Kings is less than ideal.
He has formed solid chemistry with linemate Kevin Fiala though which could hint at him having stronger numbers in the near future.
