The ECHL and other leagues have changed some of the rules for the approaching 2023-24 seasons.
The Focus of the Rule Change
One big change that is being the main focus is diminishing the occurrence of fights during games.
Much like the QMJHL has done any player that participates in a fight will be receive a game ejection.
What this Means for the NHL
Many European leagues and Olympic tournaments have banned fighting to help protect the players.
The QMJHL has has recently banned fighting for the following season and now the ECHL league which is affiliated with the NHL has banned fighting.
There have been a lot of talking about the NHL banning fighting to help keep the league safe for all players.
With all other major leagues changing their rules around fighting in now seems only a matter of time before the NHL follows suit.
