Last night a rivalry game between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames got out of control after a huge hit on Connor McDavid by a Flames forward.

Coleman Runs Over McDavid Leading To A Wild Fight

Blake Coleman has always been known as a physical presence with some offensive skills. While things have not gone according to plan in Calgary this season he once again showed his value when it comes to physicality.

Coleman trying to turn momentum in his team's favor laid a massive hit on Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid. McDavid went down on his back and his Edmonton Oilers teammate Mattias Janmark came to his defense. Coleman and Janmark would end up dropping the gloves in an epic fight.

The Flames would use the momentum of this whole situation to put a stranglehold on the game and take down the Oilers.

Edmonton Oilers Struggle To Find Consistency Heading Into The Deadline

With the trade deadline approaching in the next couple of weeks contenders are starting to separate themselves from the pack. Unfortunately for the Edmonton Oilers, they have not joined that true contender group yet.

After a horrible start to the season and a coaching change, the Oilers found themselves on a run back into a playoff spot. Since getting back into the race they have struggled to keep their consistency. The biggest issue recently has been defense and goaltending.

As the trade deadline comes and goes it will be interesting to see if they address either defense or goaltending.
