BREAKING: Major Turnaround For Penguins Jake Guentzel
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been without one of their biggest stars due to injury throughout the preseason. Now new progress has been made in that player's injury recovery.
Major News For Guentzel And The Penguins
Reports from Pens Inside Scoop have confirmed that Jake Guentzel has made major progress in his return from injury. Today Guentzel was reportedly able to shed his non-contact jersey and join his teammates for a full practice.
Jake Guentzel (offseason ankle surgery) has changed into a regular black jersey at Penguins practice. Before today, he had been skating in a white no-contact jersey since joining his teammates for the first time on Sep. 29. We'll get updates on where he's at after practice.
This is a great sign for Guentzel and Penguins fans. He is back to full practice just days after returning in a limited capacity.
Mike Sullivan confirms Jake Guentzel skated at full capacity for the first time.
He added that P.O Joseph, who was absent from practice, is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Guentzel will look to continue his fantastic play from the last 4 seasons. In 3 of the last 4 seasons he has scored at a point-per-game pace and last season he was just 5 points off. With the Penguins going all in after acquiring Erik Karlsson Guentzel will need to continue stepping up.
