The passing of Adam Johnson has been the talk of the hockey world since it was announced. Now several former NHL players believe his accident was not accidental.

Johnson Passes Away In A Horrific Scene

Adam Johnson was involved in a terrible moment where another player lost his balance and cut Johnson's neck with his skate. The injuries were originally thought to be serious and people waited for an update on his condition. Unfortunately, his team announced that he did not survive his injuries.

The National Hockey League family mourns the passing of former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson. Our prayers and deepest condolences go to his family, friends and teammates.

Since the announcement of his passing and the video of the incident were released many players have reacted to the news. Some believe that the action was intentional by the opposing player.

Today some theories began to spread like wildfire that the skate that struck Johnson was placed there on purpose. These theories came from everywhere including former NHL players.

Hockey is a dangerous sport

Many people have died playing it

My heart goes out to the Johnsons and their family and friends during this difficult time

That being said, and I've hesitated to say anything but, this is not a hockey play or a «freak accident»

I'm sure the player didn't mean to catch him in the throat, but he does seem to intentionally throw his leg behind him to catch some piece of Adam

Either way, a senseless and avoidable tragedy

Please be safe out there and keep your skates on the ice

After seeing the incident involving Adam Johnson, that Bush league needs to shut down for investigation immediately. I was literally appalled and sickened by what I saw. It looked intentional. It was a Kung fu kick. My eyes are not lying tell me I'm wrong

Horrible incident and I can't imagine what the family is going thru.

I refuse to believe the defender targeted that area on purpose, but I do think it was an incredibly reckless attempt at disrupting Johnson's path into the middle ice.

The local police have now gotten involved and are investigating the incident to see if they feel there was any foul play. We will await the results of this investigation as we continue to keep Adam Johnson's family and friends in our thoughts.
