According to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, the New York Rangers are also interested in the veteran defenseman.
Despite the fact that everyone knows that Petry wants to leave Montreal and that he has a fairly large contract for the next three years with an average salary of $6.25 million per season, it appears that Hughes may be able to get an interesting return for his veteran defenseman given the growing interest in him.
At 34 years old, Jeff Petry had his worst season in the last 5 years.
