The Minnesota Wild are still aiming to enhance their forward group this summer. Since the Eichel rumours began, the Wild had been interested in trading for him.

The Wild still have salary cap room after buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. According to TwinCities.com's Dane Mizutani, a deal for Buffalo Sabres standout Jack Eichel would have happened already. Still, the Wild have been in the mix this offseason, and if the asking price drops, Guerin will enter the fray.

Minnesota needs a first line center and Jack Eichel is the best option right now.

The Wild must consider the buyout cap hit of Parise and Suter in the coming years if they trade for Eichel. The two veterans will leave the Wild with cap charges of about $13 million in 2022-23 and nearly $15 million in 2023-24.

The Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens, and New York Rangers are all reportedly interested in trading for Eichel.
