The Canadiens announced earlier this year that Shea Weber will likely miss the full next season. What does this mean to the team? An Extra 8M in cap space!
The Tampa Bay Lightning took advantage of that situation this year with Kucherov sitting on the sideline all year and magically showing up for game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
With that additional 8M in cap space, the Hans can finally get that 1st line Center they have been killing themselves for!
It's not everyday that a center like Jack Eichel is available Eichel has never gotten the chance to play in a good team with a great roster like the Habs. Will it cost them KK and Romanov to acquire a player of his caliber? YES! We are talking about Jack Eichel.
Is this a tactic Bergevin adapted with Shea Weber? Is this all a strategy? Only time will tell
