According to Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now, an unnamed NHL general manager has revealed to him the new contract for Canadiens forward Kirby Dach.
The deal would be for two seasons for $1.7 million annually.
However, Kent Hughes can't give him this contract for the moment, because he has reached the salary cap.
The Habs GM is most likely waiting for Paul Byron to be on the long-term injured list.
