We're still waiting to see if the Montreal Canadiens will match the offer sheet made by Jesperi Kotkaniemi and the Carolina Hurricanes. Unsigned restricted free agents are still a big problem in the NHL, and one has been loud about it this offseason.
The Canucks have yet to sign forward Elias Pettersson, and training camp is fast approaching. While most expect the Canadiens to trade Kotkaniemi for Christian Dvorak of the Arizona Coyotes, they may have another surprise up their sleeve.
The Canadiens couldn't utilise the Hurricanes' picks as compensation and use them to acquire Dvorak. On another hand, why not Offer sheet Elias Pettersson and get that long time awaited first line center.
Pettersson stated earlier this offseason that he wants to play for a winning squad that can make the playoffs every year.
Will it create a WAR between the GMs if they all start Offer Sheeting each other? Is this healthy for the NHL? Let us know below.
