The Montreal Canadiens traded defenseman Ben Chiarot (and 50% of his salary) to the Florida Panthers.
In return, Ty Smilanic, selected 74th overall in 2020, heads to Montreal with a first round pick in 2023 and a fourth round pick in 2022.
