The NHL informed on Friday morning that the Canadiens-Bruins game in Montreal tomorrow had been postponed. The game has yet to be rescheduled.
Just before puck drop, the Canadiens stated The «spiralling rise of COVID-19 cases in the region».
The Canadiens will not play the Bruins on Saturday. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand are part of the COVID-19 protocol. In fact, after the game, Habs forward Jonathan Drouin admitted he wasn't comfortable facing a squad with so many cases.
As reported by Jean-François Chaumont, this is what Drouin had to say:
«I'm not really comfortable playing against a team that has so many COVID cases. There are currently seven cases, but there could be three more tomorrow.
«I don't feel comfortable. That's not what we heard with vaccines for this year. I know things are changing. Like I said, it's not ideal.»
