Unfortunately, it sounds like COL D Samuel Girard suffered a broken sternum and is out for the season. Sorry to hear, he was playing so well. This means that, regardless of how far they advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Avalanche will have to play the rest of the series without a key member of their lineup.
