A positive COVID-19 test caused Russia to lose their game against Slovakia on Wednesday, making it the third game postponed in two days. Earlier, Czechia's game versus Finland was postponed due to a positive test from one of its players.
Also, the defending champions Team USA had to forfeit versus Switzerland due to COVID-19 difficulties. Switzerland won 1-0, and Team USA is testing to see where they go from here.
Insiders say the IIHF tournament directorate will meet today to debate the World Juniors' future. The possibility of cancelling the rest of the tournament is being discussed.
