According to Michael Russo and Dan Robson of The Athletic, several NHL executives have asked their Russian players to stay in North America this summer.
As you may have guessed, most of them wanted to visit their families and that's perfectly normal.
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexander Romanov has been in Russia for quite some time now, having participated in a friendly tournament on June 25.
The same goes for the newcomer, Evgenii Dadonov.
Will these two players be able to return to Canada by training camp? We hope so, but it remains to be seen story of the goalie Ivan Pedetov who is detained in Russia this is really not encouraging.
