The Canadiens Children's Foundation held its traditional golf tournament today and the journalists present had the chance to meet the Canadiens big boss, Geoff Molson.
With the team ranked 32nd in the NHL last season, it was no surprise that Molson was asked about the team's future, but also about the support of the fans, despite a poor performance last season.
Here is the CH president's answer:
"It's amazing how, even though we finished 32nd, the fans are still there for us and I think the last few months, it was something that our fans were waiting for. For us to have a renewal, a fresh start, and I think everyone is happy and I hope it goes well." - Geoff Molson
As my GoHabsGo colleague Jean-Benoit Gagné points out, it sounds like a rebuild all around.
In short, everything indicates that Jeff Gorton, Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis will have time to get this team to their liking.
