As mentioned by my colleagues at GoHabsGo, the Montreal Canadiens will be inviting Quebec goalie Antoine Coulombe to their rookie camp.
Steve Turcotte of the Nouvelliste first reported the news.
Coulombe dominated last season with the Shawinigan Cataractes, enough to merit this opportunity with the Tricolore.
The winner of the most recent President Cup and participant in the last Memorial Cup, Coulombe maintained a record of 22 wins, 13 losses and 3 overtime losses, with a goals-against-average of 2.73 and an efficiency rating of .907.
In the playoffs, he had a record of 9 wins in 12 games with a 2.44 goals-against-average and .921 save percentage.
Could he get his chance with the Trois-Rivières Lions next season? Especially since he played all his junior hockey in Shawinigan, it could be a way to attract people to the arena.
To be continued and we wish him good luck!
