The Vézina Trophy is awarded annually to the goaltender judged to be the best of the regular season in the National Hockey League.
Last year, Marc-Andre Fleury won the award.
This season, ESPN analyst and former goaltender Kevin Weekes says Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin (2.07/.935), Predators goaltender Juuse Saros (2.68/.918) and Calgary Flames goaltender Jakob Markstrom (2.22/.922).
The surprise in all this? The absence of Freddy Andersen of the Carolina Hurricanes. He had a goals-against-average of 2.17 and a save percentage of .922. That's better than Markstrom and Sarros.
Anyway, everyone agrees that Shesterkin will be the big winner.
