Every year in the NHL, there are surprises and disappointments. The Winnipeg Jets have been on the wrong side of the line for several seasons and some changes were necessary.
The team made changes at the coaching level, in addition to addressing the leadership group. The captain since 2016, Blake Wheeler, lost his C over the summer, but his woes don't end there.
In fact, Wheeler won't even have an A on his jersey for the upcoming year. Instead, Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey and Adam Lowry will be the three of them leading the way on the ice.
Of course, Wheeler says he is at peace with the decision. However, who wouldn't say that in front of the media? It remains to be seen if the Jets, who have a lot of offensive punch and a great goaltender, will be able to find their way back to the playoffs with the changes made this summer.
