If I tell you that Cale Makar is excellent, you'll say that's pretty obvious given that he's dominated the NHL as a defenseman since he entered the league.
However, if I told you he was going to set a record in NHL history by becoming the first defenceman to break the 200 point mark before playing his 200th game, would you believe it?
That's exactly what the Avalanche's number 8 is about to do, as he's just two points shy of the 200 mark, with seven games left to go before he reaches the 200-game mark.
Let's face it, with legendary defensemen in NHL history like Raymond Bourque, Bobby Orr, Paul Coffey, Denis Potvins, etc., it's absolutely incredible that in a hockey world where it's particularly harder to score goals, Makar can break such a crazy record.
We have potentially the best defenseman in history right in front of us and he's only 24!
