It has been known for several days that Sean Monahan is playing with an ankle injury. While the injury was not serious enough to prevent him from playing, it did force him to wear a boot to help him walk between games.
In my opinion, it was highly foolish to continue to play him despite this, given his history of serious injuries and the fact that they want him healthy for the trade deadline.
Well, it looks like we passed a point of no return yesterday, as #91 left for the locker room during the game and the Habs confirmed that he wasn't going to return to the game.
All indications are that it's because of that same right foot injury. With a game to play tonight against the Seattle Kraken, we should have more details later today if he will be out of the game.
