During the post-game show, following the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Minnesota Wild, TVA Sports experts Alexandre Picard and Mathieu Chouinard were very scathing in their comments about Habs defenseman Chris Wideman.
Here's Picard's comments:
« Wideman should be your number six, or seven defenseman, right now he ends up being the quarterback on the first power play and to me that's really what's missing." - Alexandre Picard
And Chouinard's words :
« Wideman is not very good at distributing the puck, he doesn't have a great shot on the power play, he doesn't get the puck in (in the opponent's zone) and on top of that, he costs a penalty.
What is Wideman doing with the Montreal Canadiens right now? To fill a jersey? - Mathieu Chouinard
The Canadiens back have indeed had a rough start to the season, with only one assist in seven games. For someone who plays quarterback on the power play, this is far from perfect.
