The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that veteran defenceman Jake Muzzin has been placed on the long-term injured list.
Muzzin left the game against the Coyotes on Monday with a neck injury and it appears to be more serious than expected. This is the second injury he has suffered in the last two months.
If all goes well, he could be back by mid-November.
This decision gives the Maple Leafs an extra $5,625,000 this season. Add Matt Murray and Timothy Liljegren on the LTIR, and that gives Kyle Dubas plenty of money to improve his team.
