With veteran goaltender Semyon Varlamov out, the New York Islanders have recalled netminder Cory Schneider from the AHL's Bridgeport Islanders.
Schneider is slated to back up Ilya Sorokin until Varlamov returns, but I'd love to see him play again in the NHL. He was a great goalie for many years before injuries pushed him out. He's clawed his way back to the NHL and I'd love to see him play.
