The star player we are talking about is Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri. Kadri is having the best season of his career with the Avalanche. But Kadri is also a pending UFA at the end of this season.

Nazem Kadri is from London Ontario Canada, this is where Kadri returns home to during his off seasons. Kadri still trains in his own stomping grounds Budweiser Gardens. He created so many memorable moments as a member of his junior hockey team the London Knights.

Kadri was drafted from the London knights to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft. Ironically that draft took place in Montreal, Nazem Kadri's favorite childhood team. As well as his father Sam's favorite team, who fun fact I bought my wife's vehicle from.

Now that Nazem Kadri can finally decide his own fate as a pending UFA do you think he will live his childhood dream and sign with the Montreal Canadiens? Do you think Habs GM Kent Hughes will make an offer for Kadri? Nazem Kadri has on record said that, "he would love to play for the Canadiens even if it's one season."

If Kadri does indeed play for the Canadiens he will join the long list of London Knights that have played for the Canadiens at one time or another in their careers.

Previous players, Sergei Kostitsyn, Michael McCarron, Jared Tinordi, Brandon Prust, Chris Wideman, Victor Mete, Corey Perry, and the Habs 2021 first round pick Logan Mailloux also played for the London Knights.

This doesn't mean Nazem will join the Canadiens but as a fan of Kadri since before he was in the NHL, and the fact that the Habs are his favorite team would be awesome to See Nazem Kadri in the Red, White, and Blue even for just one season.
