According to insider TSN reporter and hockey expert Craig Button, if Montreal Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson had been 5'11" instead of 5'9", he would have been the first overall pick in the last draft, ahead of Juraj Slafkovsky.
A second round pick, 62nd overall, Hutson is off to a phenomenal start in the NCAA, with 18 points in 16 games in his rookie year.
Since the start of the World Junior Championship, he has recorded one goal and one assist in four games with the Americans.
A great steal by Jeff Gorton and his scouting team, which will be exciting to follow in the coming years.
