Insider Darren Dreger mentioned on TSN690 why Shea Weber's contract was not traded at the trade deadline.
According to Dreger, there were papers that needed to be signed and money that needed to be paid.
However, he confirmed that his contract should be moved in the next few months, when Kent Hughes and Bill Armstrong will have more time to deal with it.
