Dr. Harjas Grewal revealed the nature of Cole Caufield's injury, as the Canadiens forward will have to undergo surgery on his right shoulder soon.
« Probably a torn labrum for Caufield
There are probably many NHL players currently playing with a similar injury.
Once he has surgery, the timeline will likely be 5-6+ months, allowing for a full off-season program, a return to play afterwards and a good start to the 23/24 season. »
So the good news is that he'll be fit to play on the same line as Nick Suzuki for the start of the 2023-2024 season.
The 22-year-old Caufield has recorded 36 points, including 26 goals, in 46 games this season.
