Dominik Hasek criticizes Ovechkin's shootout with son as a disgraceful act
There were few notable highlights at the NHL All-Star Game. Underwhelming events combined with an obvious lack of energy from players really made it hard to watch.
One massive highlight, however, was watching Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, and his son Sergei Ovechkin team up to score a breakaway goal on Roberto Luongo.
It would be hard to see this as anything other than cute, but legendary goaltender Dominik Hasek described it as a heinous act.
The [NHL] has sunk to rock bottom! Letting Ovechkin's son perform on the ice at the NHL All-Star is spitting in the face of approximately 500 killed, thousands injured and tens of thousands of kidnapped Ukrainian children. The NHL and Gary Bettman must pay for this heinous act!
Definitely harsh words by Hasek, but it is hard not to appreciate his point of view.
