Hockey Player Passes Away at 16-Years-Old Following Multiple Strokes
The hockey world was shocked yesterday when it was announced that 16-year-old hockey player Cormick Scanlan passed away following a series of strokes.
His team, the St. Paul Capitals released this statement:
Our hockey community has lost a great young man. After suffering a series of strokes, Cormick Scanlan passed away peacefully last night surrounded by family.
Mick played with the Caps through Bantams.
Our strength is with the Scanlans and all who loved Cormick. Rest in peace.
Cormick had been hospitalized since December 6th. The cause of the strokes were determined to be of a rare condition called Moyamoya Disease
His family set up a GoFundMe when Cormick was initially put into hospital.
We wish the best to the friends and family effected by this tragic loss.
