Eichel's camp is attempting one last push to convince the Sabres management to let Jack get his preferred surgery, sources told ESPN.
To resume the situation, Eichel has a herniated disk in his neck, and was hopeful to get a disk replacement. The Sabres on their end, prefer Eichel to receive a fusion surgery, because a disk replacement has never been performed on an NHL player ever.
Eichel has seen multiple physicians recently and here's what was said:
«We're collecting medical opinions that support his preference to receive a disk replacement surgery. According to sources, Eichel's camp is presenting that information to Buffalo management this week, hoping they will budge on their stance.»
A few teams were interested in trading for him. Buffalo however, kept their demands high, which has cooled most trade talks.
Will they approve the surgery? We will have to wait.
