Two Habs players are being linked to the Edmonton Oilers more and more. One thing is for sure, there is a lot of information floating around about Josh Anderson and Joel Edmundson in Edmonton.

TSN reporter Ryan Rishaug, along with Arpon Basu, broke down what a deal sending Edmundson to Edmonton might look like and it would be pretty major. According to Basu, Kent Hughes would ask for a first round pick, or a former first round pick, in this case Xavier Bourgault.

Basu doesn't stop there, he mentions that the Oilers could also give Jesse Puljujarvi to the Canadiens to make it work with the salary cap. As my colleague William Nadeau of habsetlnh.com mentions, here's the offer that could be on the table:

In Montreal - Xavier Bourgault + Jesse Puljujarvi + possibly a pick

IN EDMONTON - Joel Edmundson

Other option:

To MONTREAL - 2023 first round pick

To EDMONTON - Joel Edmundson

Remember that with the emergence of young defencemen in the Habs' lineup, coupled with the need to continue building the team's future, it would be quite possible for number 44 to leave before the trade deadline. For the Oilers, Edmundson's arrival would be beneficial, as they look to add some dog in their lineup.
