According to what Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff reports, the Florida Panthers are expected to make a trade sooner rather than later to welcome Anthony Duclair back into the lineup after he missed several months of activity with a major injury.
Sam Reinhart ($6.5M), Sam Bennett ($4.425M), Patric Hornqvist ($5.3M) and Sergei Bobrovsky ($10M) have been rumoured in recent days.
Bill Zito currently has $87,625 available under his salary cap and that's why he'll have to make a move if he wants to add the Quebecer, who had 58 points in 74 games last season.
How would that affect the Habs?
ANY trade from the Panthers could impact the Habs this year. If a trade doesn't go well, Florida's first-round pick in 2023, which is owned by the Canadiens, could increase in value and end up in the lottery.
Right now, all Kent Hughes wants is for the Panthers to lose, lose and lose.
