Following the signing of Kirby Dach this morning, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes was asked about the only player who is still a restricted free agent on his team, goaltender Cayden Primeau.
The announcement will be made shortly.
« I spoke with his agent this morning and I think we are getting close to a deal. I wish it was today, but either way, I expect it to happen soon. »
- Kent Hughes
Obviously, something is wrong between the two parties. Does Primeau want a one-way contract? A bigger salary in the American League, with a two-pronged agreement?
One thing is certain, we will have more details in the coming days.
