Juraj Slafkovsky and Joe Thornton have the same size. Both were drafted first overall in a draft and both started their NHL careers at the same age, 18.
Here's an interesting comparison, made by Stephane Leroux, between the two men.
What was Thornton's first season in Boston like? Seven points in 55 games.
And for Slafkovsky? 10 points in 37 games.
Here's what Leroux had to say:
I see a lot of publication on Slafkovsky. Should we keep him in Montreal or send him to Laval?
I'm leaving this here for consideration...Two 1st overall picks - 25 years apart - who played at age 18 in the #NHL
Thornton has had a no worse career. #OnJase"
Let's just say that it's very encouraging for the future and, above all, it makes you think!
