According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, two teams are no longer in the running to acquire Montreal Canadiens veteran Josh Anderson.
The Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils are no longer interested in the power forward's services, according to Pagnotta's sources.
Pagnotta is certain that Anderson will remain a member of the Canadiens following the trade deadline.
Why would he do that? The reason is simple: Kent Hughes' asking price would be very high, even if he doesn't have a great season.
In 24 games this season, Anderson has nine points, including seven goals.
