But in all seriousness, the 2021-22 season could be spectacular if Nick Robertson can perform for the Toronto Maple Leafs like Caufield did for the Habs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs picked left-winger Nick Robertson of the Peterborough Petes with the 53rd overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. It's amazing to think that so many other teams passed him up that year, even two years later.
The Montreal Canadiens selected a diminutive goal-scorer named Cole Caufield almost one round and a half before Nick Robertson.
Caufield, who achieved this a year after being drafted, was already a goal scorer, which is one of the reasons he was so highly regarded. Robertson and Caufield, on the other hand, have a lot more in common than you might imagine.
Because the Toronto Maple Leafs have a need to fill after losing Foligno and Hyman, Robertson will have a chance to play with The Big Boys, either alongside Matthews and Marner or with Johnny Hockey and Nylander, much like Cauffield did with the Habs during the playoffs and throughout the regular season!
But, as time goes on, the Leafs will need to evaluate their roster after losing some key players on the front end, but you know, the Leafs will always build that chemistry, they love playing with each other, and thats why Jumbo Joe signed with Toronto last summer, and obviously that didnt work out, but now you know a Future Hall of Famer sees the work the Leafs are doing.
