With the Montreal Canadiens having their worst season in franchise history, there is going to be many questions asked and decisions to be made in Montreal.

One of those questions has to be is it time for Jonathan Drouin to be traded? To be fair, Johnathan Drouin had too much pressure and expectations placed on him from the moment the Canadiens acquired him.

The Canadiens acquired Drouin from the Tampa Bay Lightning for their 2016 9th overall pick, defenceman Mikhail Sergachev, on June 15th 2017.

From that moment he was marketed to be that Quebec superstar that could sell merch, and sell tickets. Unfortunately Drouin hasn't been close to meeting the expectations the Habs hoped for.

Drouin's best season with the Habs was in 2018-19, scoring 18 goals and 35 assists for 53 points in 81 games. Drouin left the Canadiens for mental health reasons, he returned this season but like most of the team has struggled this season, only scoring 6 goals and 11 assists in 29 games.

Sergachev on the other hand has turned out to be a solid defenceman in Tampa helping them win back-to-back Stanley Cups playing on a loaded team.

Expect to whom Jeff Gorton picks as the next general manager make calls on what he could get for Drouin. I believe Drouin's time in Montreal is nearing its end.
