Jakob Chychrun Has Expressed Interest in Moving to A Specific Canadian Team
Jakob Chychrun will inevitably be traded by the Arizona Coyotes.
While the package to acquire him will be significant, reportedly two first round picks, and either an elite prospect or a young NHL player, somebody will ultimately pay up for the top-pairing blueliner.
Now, Nick Kypreos on Tim And Friends has sparked ties between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chychrun.
Chychrun appears to be very interested in playing for the Leafs, because of one particular player - Auston Matthews.
This is somewhat ironic, as Chychrun would be leaving Arizona to go play with one of the greatest Arizona-born players of all time.
However, it would also mean that Chychrun would be put in a position to log big minutes for a playoff team - something he hasn't yet experienced.
It may be too much of a trade package for Toronto to justify, but a piece like Chychrun could be a game changer. They already traded for an Arizona defender yesterday, and who knows if they'll do it again.
This will definitely be an interesting file to watch.
