Jaromir Jagr is one of the best players to ever play hockey. However, the legend gave his fans a scare when he was recently involved in a car accident in Prague, in his home country of the Czech Republic.
The famous number 68 was hit by a streetcar going through the city. Paramedics responded to the scene of the accident, but Jagr was able to walk away with no major injuries. The now 50-year-old player described the accident in a statement while admitting it was his fault.
"Dear fans, but also everyone. I just want to tell you briefly what happened today when I was involved in a traffic accident. It was my fault. I was trying to cross from one way to the other on Plzeňská Street. I looked the other way and at the right moment I went in. But there was a lot of traffic and I didn't have time to react to a streetcar that was speeding in the same direction as me. I spotted it half a meter ahead of me, at the last moment. I thought that was the end of me. I always believed that a higher power had a protective hand over me, and today I was convinced again. Thank God! And I was also surprised and even saved by my KIA, which despite its scary appearance, allowed me to escape unharmed. But most importantly, the passengers of the streetcar were unharmed. I would like to end this sad event with this. And thank you all for your understanding and also for helping those who responded to the scene." - Jaromir Jagr
It's nice to hear that no one was seriously injured in the incident, and especially to see that he admits his wrongdoing!
