Jim Rutherford Puts Out a Shocking Statement About The Future of the Vancouver Canucks
It's safe to say that Jim Rutherford has done far from a stellar job as president of hockey operations for the Vancouver Canucks.
While he signed some good contracts, such as Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson's, and convinced Russian free agent Andrei Kuzmenko to wear a nucks sweater, the atmosphere in the locker room and the hopelessness of the fans are starting to cumulate to disaster.
Today, Rutherford spoke about his job, and he was candid that he could be doing better:
Jim Rutherford tells reporters in Vancouver that he's "disappointed" with the job he's done.
Says he initially thought "minor surgery" would be needed on the #canucks, but now views it as "major surgery."
He equally made a shocking statement regarding the core of the team:
Jim Rutherford: "All of the core players aren't going to end up being here."
This implies that one of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, or Thatcher Demko won't stay with the team long-term.
Whether Vancouver fans like it or not, change is coming - and soon.
