Looking back to January 1st, 2019, when the St. Louis Blues were last place in the league, it is crazy to think of how far they came. They won that season's Stanley Cup, thanks to the help of young goaltender Jordan Binnington.

They then signed Binnington to a massive contract, that carries an $6-million cap-hit. This contract kicked in for the 2021-22 season. This was the same season that Binnington lost the starters net to Ville Husso.

Now that Husso is in Detroit, it is Binnington's net once again and he isn't taking much advantage. His .889 save percentage is close to the bottom of the league among starters. His serious attitude issues are equally coming more to light.

Incidents, such as when he hit Jason Zucker in the head:

When he tried to throw a big hit on Jordan Staal:

Or when he intentionally tried to trip Sam Carrick:

These incidents are making him a serious issue, and even head coach Craig Berube called him out:

Now, Binnington has made more troubling comments.

It's the same old story; it's happened (a couple) years in a row, where it's the same kind of start and, you know, it pisses me off. I'm here to win and that starts from day one, from training camp.

We're slowly building and playing together. We're getting there. But we're two and a half, three months into the season. It just gets frustrating over a period of time where it's the same thing that you're seeing and you expect things to be different. I'm not here to waste my fing time every game. It's the NHL. Let's go!

Let's see the team is wasting his time? Maybe they'd be playing better if he could muster up a respectable save percentage. Beyond that, for a guy that's already impacting his team in a negative way from his play, Binnington hadn't ceased being a true locker room nightmare.

Craig Berube showed last year that despite Binnington's big contract, he isn't afraid to let somebody else take the starters net. We will see if the same thing happens this season.
