Shea Weber was a warrior his whole career and was outstanding for the Canadiens during their magical run to the Stanley Cup final. He had the nickname "Dad" from his teammates, unfortunately was reported in the summer that Shea Weber wouldn't play this season to heal up injuries and determine his future.
The Montreal Canadiens' new general manager had a interview with RDS' François Gagnon yesterday, the new GM made it clear he's got some ideas in mind for Shea Weber in the Habs organization in a off ice related position. Kent Hughes would say,
"We have proposals to make to Shea who could be a great asset within the organization with his experience and his qualities as a player and leader. I don't know yet what role this could translate to, but we have plans for Shea to keep him with us." - Kent Hughes
This season, we learned Weber already is doing part of off ice hockey roles scouting the junior ranks to help the Canadiens.
Shea Weber has done so much for teammates like Victor Mete before he was traded to Ottawa, or Alex Romanov who Weber took under his wing last season, as well as Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki who said Shea Weber helped them so much in their careers also.
I think Shea Weber will eventually become a coach or general manager in this league to share his knowledge and lead a team off the ice just like he did on the ice.
