The incident has put Briere's son under a lot of criticism, the backlash caused the university that Briere's son attends to tweet a statement regarding the incident, he also plays for the men's hockey team at this university, who deactivated their Twitter account due to backlash.
The Twitter user who originally posted the video offered an explanation of why the wheelchair was left at the top of the stairs
They also stated that the wheelchair was broken during this incident, and have stated that the owner of the wheelchair is pursuing legal action.
It seems that Briere's son may soon be facing legal action due to his lack of maturity.
