Montreal Canadiens' young defensive prospect Logan Mailloux gave his first one-on-one interview with TVA Sports' Anthony Martineau.
He wanted to thank the fans, in French, to start.
I want to thank all the Canadiens fans who have supported me for the past year and a half and who have stayed with me. You have helped me. I know it hasn't always been easy, but I really appreciate it. Now I just want to bring the Stanley Cup back to Montreal."
- Logan Mailloux, who adds that he wants to continue practicing his French so he can always address Habs fans in their language.
With 36 points in 38 games with the London Knights, Mailloux believes he is the famous offensive defenseman that fans want in Montreal.
"Yes, I really think I'm the offensive defenceman that CH fans want and I plan to do everything I can to make that happen."
- Logan Mailloux
His London GM, Mark Hunter, talks about his future:
"I think his NHL production will be between 40 and 60 points, depending on how good the group is offensively from year to year. Quite frankly, Canadiens fans have every reason to be excited about Logan."
And how did his contract signing go?
"Kent Hughes called me into his office at the beginning of camp and told me he wanted to formalize my association with the team before I left for London. I couldn't stop smiling! That moment really warmed my heart. My parents were also very excited! They have been there for me from the beginning and have made so many sacrifices!
