Major development in Cole Caufield's contract negotiations with the Canadiens
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, negotiations between the Montreal Canadiens and Cole Caufield's agent appear to have stalled.
Even though negotiations have already begun, the two sides would not announce an extension during the season, so the young player would not be distracted by it.
"Canadiens fans are wondering about Cole Caufield's next contract, but I don't think the organization will do it during the season if there are concerns that such conversations will weigh on him."
The 21-year-old American is having a stellar season, with 24 points in 26 games so far this campaign.
