Matthew Knies Impresses on the Ice: Leafs Prospect Shines in Victory Against Penn State
With the trade deadline fast approaching, the Toronto Maple Leafs managed to snag St. Louis Blues Captain Ryan O'Reilly without giving up a major piece of the Maple Leaf's future.
It was a real coup for Kyle Dubas, as he added the needed depth that is in place to win. It's no different for Matthew Knies either, as fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
Knies with help from fellow teammates, Logan Cooley and Jimmy Snuggerud took on Penn-State in a Big Ten match-up. Cooley set up a one-timer for a tie at what should have been the end of the game, proving to be a clutch performer.
The trio of Logan Cooley, Jimmy Snuggerud, and Matthew Knies combined last night for a total of 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points.
It looks like with the O'Reilly acquisition and Dubas working on his skills, the Maple Leaf's nation can rest assured Knies is going to be here after the trade deadline passes, as Dubas wants to protect his prospects.
